The Kimberly C. Edwards Memorial Scholarship
Kimberly was a very active and faithful member of Mount Pisgah Missionary Baptist Church, where she served in the Mass Choir, Usher Board, Nurses Auxiliary, Sunday school and Gospel Jewels. She was known at Mt. Pisgah for her beautiful smile and caring spirit. She was employed by Chrysler Transmission Plant, Kokomo for 20 years and was also a member of the Union Local 685. She graduated from Ivy Tech with a degree in liberal arts. Kimberly was a 1984 graduate of Kokomo High School, where she was on the track team, volleyball team, Spanish club, student council and played in the high school band.
Kimberly was a lover of children. Children gravitated to her and literally clung to her. Although Kimberly never had children of her own, she mothered many children around the Kokomo community. Kimberly was one of the first ones to hear, embrace, and volunteer to bring the vision of the Academy into reality. Although she is not here to see the opening of the academy, we just believe that she is smiling to see the vision come to pass.
August 10, 2008, Heaven received an awesome soul, who is missed and continues to be loved by her family, Church family, and friends.

The Kimberly Memorial Scholarship is designed to assist students who are attending FDRCA with their tuition and school fees.
Award Date: Every first Sunday in the month of August.
Deadline To Apply: All scholarship applications must be turned into the Academy office by July 10th.
Who Can Apply: All students who have been accepted and have received an acceptance letter into FDRCA.
How Do I Apply: Download the Kimberly C. Edwards Scholarship form and mail or bring it to the FDRCA office.
Amount of Scholarship: The amount of this scholarship will vary from year to year. It is dependent on the charitable contributions of the family and friends of Kimberly C. Edwards. The minimum distribution of this scholarship is $1,000.
- All students will be notified in writing if they are awarded the Kimberly C. Edwards Memorial Scholarship.
- Please note, the Academy does not determine who will be awarded the Scholarship, this decisions will come from the family of the late Kimberly C. Edwards.
- Monies from this scholarship will be credited to the account of the student. All monies from this scholarship are not redeemable for cash or reimbursement.
- No monies from this scholarship will be eligible to go towards other educational institutions, but is strictly meant for FDRCA.
